Nutrition Support for Women’s Health
Women’s nutritional needs can change considerably across different stages of life.
Hormonal changes may affect digestion, energy, sleep, appetite, mood, body composition and how you respond to foods that previously suited you. These changes deserve a personalised approach rather than a generic list of foods or supplements.
I provide evidence-based nutritional therapy for women in Edinburgh and online across the UK, supporting you alongside - not instead of - appropriate medical care.
You May Be Looking for Support With:
menstrual or cycle-related changes
premenstrual symptoms
perimenopause and menopause
changes in appetite, weight or body composition
digestive symptoms that appear to change with your cycle or hormones
low energy or disrupted sleep
maintaining muscle and bone health as you age
changing nutritional needs during midlife
making sense of conflicting advice about women’s health
nutrition alongside HRT or other prescribed medication
How I Work
We begin with your complete story, including your symptoms, menstrual and hormonal history, eating patterns, lifestyle, medications, sleep, stress, digestion and personal goals.
Because women’s symptoms often overlap, I look at how the different parts of your health may be connected. For example, sleep disruption may influence energy, appetite and food choices, while hormonal changes may coincide with digestive symptoms or changes in body composition.
My pharmacy background also allows me to consider medications, supplements and possible interactions carefully.
Your Personalised Plan May Include:
balanced meals that support energy and satisfaction
practical ways to increase protein, fibre and food variety
nutrition to support bone, muscle and cardiovascular health
support with appetite, cravings and weight changes
food-first strategies for digestive concerns
sleep, stress and movement recommendations
review of supplements you already use
supplement guidance where appropriate
suggestions for medical investigations or questions to discuss with your GP
nutrition support alongside HRT or other medical treatment
My aim is to help you feel informed, supported and more confident in adapting your nutrition as your body and circumstances change.
